The photo contest was announced by sharkproject to bring attention to the many outstanding and rare shark photos stored in many many archives around the world. Many committed and courageous participants documented the worldwide slaughter of sharks with their coverage photos that for the first time got highly awarded besides the classic contest categories during this contest. Thanks to a stunning support by the photoequipment- and diving industry this contest was one of the highest remunerated during the past years and participation payed off. A total of around 20.000 EUR in material prizes and especially designed winner medals were awarded to the lucky winners.

An additional goodie awaits the participants as they have the possibility to market their high quality images through the „Sharkimages“ image stock database. Also the shark protection benefits from this as - with permission from the photographers – Sharkproject may use those images for its important educational purposes.
